On this evening, Auer Trio will perform three Romantic compositions for chamber ensemble. It will be a roller coaster ride of emotions that leads through a wide spectrum of moods. The first piece of the programme is Rachmaninoff’s Elegiac Trio, which he wrote while still at the academy. The Trio in E minor, one of Dvořák’s most popular compositions, evokes the distinctive singing mode of Ukrainian folk music. The final piece will be Tchaikovsky’s monumental Trio in A minor, an extraordinary piece as regards both its form and emotional scale. Between the compositions, actor Péter Blaskó will read out excerpts from the composer’s journals and letters.
It was after an exceedingly inspirational evening of chamber music that Péter Kováts, István Varga and Balázs Fülei decided to make their collaboration regular. Since 2016, Auer Trio has performed in Rome, Warsaw and Shanghai, as well as at the Auer Festival in Veszprém.
